Levardis Robert Martyn Burton, Jr. (born February 16, 1957), professionally known as LeVar Burton, is an American actor, producer, presenter, director, and author. On screen, he's known for his portrayals of Kunta Kinte in Roots, Geordi La Forge in Star Trek: The Next Generation and for hosting Reading Rainbow for 23 years.
In the world of voice acting, Burton has voiceded Kwame in Captain Planet and the Planeteers, War Machine in The Super Hero Squad Show, a creepy bubble in Adventure Time, and Black Lightning in Superman/Batman: Public Enemies.
