Heatwave brings back what he thinks is a sample from an asteroid, and blames the Recruits when it disappears. While searching for it to clear their names, the Recruits quickly discover that the "rock" is actually an alien—and it's loose in the Headquarters!

- Whirl mentions how Heatwave would know what it’s like to go to sleep in outer space and wake up on another planet, as that's practically what happened to his team way back in "Family of Heroes".
- Whirl's locker features a drawing of her and another Whirl, using the character's More than Meets the Eye design... which may be a reference to a popular fan concept that the Rescue Bot Whirl is the "daughter" of MTMTE Whirl.
